Korean men’s professional volleyball champion Korean Air reached the quarterfinals of the 2023 Asian Club Championship.

On the 15th (Korean time), Korean Air defeated Al-Ahli of Bahrain with a set score of 3-0 (25-19 25-21 25-22) in the second match of Group A of the tournament held at Isa Sports City in Manama, Bahrain.

Korean Air, which beat Australia’s Canberra Heat 3-0 the previous day, secured second place in the group and advanced to the quarterfinals regardless of the result of the match against Jakarta Barankara, Indonesia’s national team, on the 16th. 스포츠토토

Korean Air, which broke Al-Ahli’s receive with a powerful spike serve and floater serve, and won the first set, moved one step closer to victory with Lim Dong-hyuk’s three cannonball serves at the end of the second set.

Korean Air’s main gun, Jeong Ji-seok, scored a series of blocking points following sharp quick open attacks in the third set 22-22, racking up match points and living up to his name.

Jeong Ji-seok scored 17 points, including 2 interceptions, and Lim Dong-hyuk scored 13 points by blocking and serving 1 each. Veteran setter Yoo Kwang-woo’s skillful ball distribution also contributed to the victory.

The 16 teams participating in this tournament will be divided into 4 groups of 4 teams each for the group stage. From the quarterfinals, where the first and second place finishers in each group compete, a tournament will be held.

Korean Air is the first Korean men’s team to participate in this tournament since the launch of professional volleyball in 2005.
