South Korean women’s table tennis veteran Seo Hyo-won, 36, has been knocked out of the singles competition at the 2023 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)-Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) Pyeongchang Asian Championships after losing to the world’s fifth-ranked Chinese player.

Seo Hyo-won, ranked 61st in the world in women’s singles, lost to Wang Man-yu (CHN), ranked fifth in the world, with a game score of 1-3 (4-11 12-10 3-11 5-11) in the round of 64 of the women’s singles event at the Pyeongchang Dome in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon Province, on Sunday.

Seo Hyo-won won two games with exquisite defense and powerful smashes to level the score at 1-1, but dropped the next two games to lose the match.

World No. 9 Yubin Shin defeated World No. 269 Angelina Romanovskaya (Kazakhstan) 3-1 (12-10 11-13 12-10 11-5) in the Women’s Singles Round of 64 to advance to the Round of 32. Shin struggled with Romanovskaya’s tricky serve, but managed to hold on for the win after three close deuce games. 바카라사이트

Yang Ha-eun, ranked 67th in the world, defeated Hassan Haikar (Pakistan) 3-0 (11-1 11-8 11-2) in the round of 64 to advance to the round of 32.

World No. 80 Lee Eun-hye fell 1-3 (19-17 9-11 8-11 7-11) to World No. 7 Hayata Hina (JPN) in the round of 64. After winning the first game in a deuce battle that went to 19 points, Lee kept the pressure on Hina Hayata until the end, but ultimately fell short.

The men’s doubles pairs of Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon and Ahn Jae-hyun and Park Kang-hyun advanced to the quarterfinals. In women’s doubles, Jeon Jeon-hee and Shin Yubin reached the quarterfinals.
